Copelands China Bowl – Harrods Exclusive
A quietly distinguished piece of English porcelain with an exceptional provenance. This elegant bowl was produced by Spode Copelands China exclusively for Harrods of Knightsbridge, London — in the pattern registered as "Old Bow" (Rd No. 599813). The exterior is decorated with a polychrome floral basket motif in the Chinoiserie tradition: pansies, peonies and morning glories in violet, yellow and rose, arranged around a gilded trellis on a crisp white ground. A fine geometric border in olive green and gold runs along the rim, with a delicate gold line finishing the interior edge.
To own a piece made exclusively for Harrods is to own a small fragment of London retail history — a time when department stores commissioned their own china from England’s finest potteries.
