Chinese Famille Rose Warrior Plate

A captivating hand-painted Chinese porcelain plate in the Famille Rose (fěncǎi) tradition, depicting a celebrated scene from Chinese mythology or opera — a female warrior deity wielding a spear and sword. Dating to the Republic Period (c.1920–1940), this is a fine example of the period’s decorative export porcelain.

The palette is rich and vivid: coral red, emerald green, cobalt blue, and soft pink, applied with the characteristic translucency of Famille Rose enamels.

The wide border is densely decorated with lotus blossoms, pomegranates, and scrolling foliage framed within shaped cartouches — symbols of abundance and longevity.
